1. Terms of Reference
Stella Smyth, Business English teacher in the English Language Teaching Unit has requested this report on a clothing company. The report investigates the company’s production techniques and the relation between production costs and selling prices. The report was to be submitted to Miss. Smyth by Tuesday 8th of May.
2. Procedure
At first this report was meant to report on the Tommy Hilfiger Inc.’s legal architecture. However during my research on the company, more interesting topics about Tommy Hilfiger Inc. were found and will be reported. In order to explore the company’s production techniques and the company’s relation between selling price and production costs, the following tasks were conducted:
2.1. Information about Tommy Hilfiger Inc. and working conditions and labour costs were searched in newspaper articles and especially on the Internet.
2.2. A survey was conducted by interviewing 15 people in Hamburg with a questionnaire.
2.3. A short inventory of the shop was carried out.
2.4. An interview with the shop manager in Hamburg was conducted.
2.5. The information from the Internet and the questionnaire have been analysed.
3. Findings
