ABSTRACT

한국어 초록

이 논문은 근대국어 중철표기의 양상을 살펴보고 유형을 재분류
하는 데 의미가 있다. 중철표기는 이중표기, 중복표기라고도 불리는 표기
방식 중 하나로서 체언이나 용언 등의 어간말 자음과 후행 음절의 두자음
(頭子音)이 중복 표기된 형식을 말한다. 이는 선행 음절말 자음은 형태음
소적 원리에 따라 어간 형태소를 밝혀 표기하고 후행 음절의 두자음은 음
소적 원리에 따라 발음을 나타낸다는 점에서 연철표기와 분철표기의 성
격이 혼재된 모습을 보여준다. 중철표기의 생성 원인을 살펴보고 표기의
성격을 규명하고자 하였다. 중철표기의 유형을 살펴봄에 있어 환경(형태
소 경계/형태소 내부), 정도성(완전중복/부분중복), 방향성(순행중복/역행
중복), 품사 등을 고려하여 재분류를 시도하였다. 분류의 기준으로 삼은
환경, 정도성, 품사를 유형화에 관여적인 요소로 판단하고 이들 간의 위
계 설정 가능 여부를 살펴보고자 하였다.

영어 초록

This study has significance that the aspect of Jungcheol writing in Pre-modern
Korean and the classification of the types have been examined. Jungcheol writing
is one of writing method called as double writing or duplicate writing, and a form
that the end sound of a stem of an inflected word or a predicate etc. is doubly
written with the initial sound of the following proposition or end of a word. This
shows a figure that the character of continual writing and syllable writing are mixed
in the point that the end sound of prior syllable is written as stem morpheme according
to the morphophonemics principle, and the initial sound of following syllable is written
as pronunciation according to the phonemic principle. This study intended to examine
the formation cause of Jungcheol writing and to establish the character of the writing.
This study tried to reclassify them considering their environment (morpheme boundary
/ inside of morpheme), degree (complete duplication, partial duplication),
directivity(progressive duplication / regressive duplication), parts of speech. This study
judged that classify benchmark environment, degree, directivity, part of speech are
significant constituents concerned to classification, and intended to establish the
possibility to create a hierarchy among them. This research process is worth
understanding the writing system in Pre-modern Korean. Furthermore, it is anticipated
to apprehend the character and the limit of object of Jungcheol writing, one of writing
method, and to understand the writing principle.
