반편견 주제의 동화 읽어주기 활동이 통합학급 학생의 다문화 인식 및 인권감수성에 미치는 영향

본 연구는 일반학생과 장애 및 다문화학생 간 수용과 사회적 관계를 촉진시킴으로써 통합교육의 여건을 조성하고자 계획되었다. 장애학생과 다문화학생이 포함된 통합학급 학생들에게 반편견
주제의 동화를 교사가 직접 읽어주는 것과 스스로 읽는 것의 효과를 비교함으로써 교사의 반편견
주제의 동화 읽어주기 활동이 통합학급 학생들의 다문화 인식과 인권감수성에 미치는 영향을 알
아보고자 하였다. 경상남도 T시 소재 J초등학교 2학년 학생 60명을 연구대상으로 선정하고 실험
집단과 통제집단에 각 30명씩 배치하여 주2회씩 총 20회기에 걸쳐 각각 반편견 주제 동화 읽어주
기 활동과 학생 스스로 읽기를 실시하였고, 다문화 인식과 인권감수성 사전?사후 검사를 실시한
후 실험집단과 통제집단 간의 변화를 알아보았다. 연구결과 반편견 주제의 동화 읽어주기 활동은
통합학급 학생들의 다문화 인식을 높이는데 긍정적인 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 교사의 책 읽
어주기 활동을 실시한 실험집단이 학생들이 직접 책을 읽은 통제집단보다 다문화 인식 및 인권감
수성이 신장되었다. 따라서 반편견 주제의 동화 읽어주기 활동은 학생들의 다문화 인식과 인권감
수성을 향상시키는 유용한 프로그램이라 할 수 있다.
영어 초록
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of anti-bias themed children’sbook-reading activity on multicultural consciousness and human rights sensitivity in order to
establish conditions to realize more extended integrated education in the aspect of accepting
diversity by promoting ordinary students’ acceptance for and social relations with disabled
students or multicultural students. To solve the above goals of this study, the researcher
selects 60 students from two second grade-classes at J Elementary School located in T City,
G-do. After, the experiment group of 30 students were treated with the representation strategy
instruction during 20 periods twice a week and the control group of 30 students were treated
direct instruction. Next, The data were treated to obtain mean and standard deviation as
descriptive statistics and perfomed ANCOVA to verify the difference of the effect. The results
of this study are as follows.
First, it was found that the anti-bias themed children’s book-reading activity exerted positive
effects in enhancing the integrated class students’ multicultural consciousness.
Second, it was found that the anti-bias themed children’s book-reading activity indicated
positive effects in developing the integrated class students’ human rights sensitivity positively.
