한국어 초록

국제박물관협의회(ICOM; Interational Council of Museums)의 정관(ICOM 2001:
Statutes)과 전문직원 윤리강령(ICOM 2001 : Code of Professional Ethics)에“박물관은 사회
와 사회의 발전에 이바지하고 공중에게 개방되는 비영리의 항구적인 기관으로서 학습과 교육, 위
락을 위해서 인간과 인간의 환경에 대한 물질적인 증거를 수집, 보존, 연구, 교류, 전시한다.”고 정
의되어 있다.
국제박물관협의회는 1946년 11월 각 국 박물관의 협력증진과 이익도모 및 박물관의 역할 증대
를 통하여 인류 문화발전을 도모하고자 창립된 후, 1947년 멕시코에서 첫 모임을 개최하였으며
1948년 파리에서 제 1차 국제박물관 협의회 총회를 개최하여 정관을 채택, 그 후 여러 차례 수
정·보완되었는데 1951년 총회에서 당시의 박물관 정의에 박물관의 기능과 역할이 단편적으로
추가되었고 1974년에 박물관의 기능과 역할, 영역이 구체적으로 명시된 후 1986년 국제박물관협
의회의「박물관 전문직원 윤리강령」에 박물관의 기능과 역할, 영역등이 보다 구체적으로 명시되고
보완되었다.2) 그러나 시대의 변화에 따른 인식의 전환으로 점차 박물관은 인간과 인간의 환경에
관한 물질적 증거만을 취급해야 한다는 전통적 사고에서 물질적 증거뿐만 아니라 그 외에 보이지
않는 문화적인 요소도 그 범주 안에 넣어야 한다는 제안들이 논의되었다.

영어 초록

There was some regular confidential talk about practical use for Korean DMZ since the 1970s and main
proposal focused to settle to shock-absorbing area to prevent relaxation and confidence-building, and war
