한국어 초록
Before I discuss Adler’s contribution to nurturing the Creativity in people, I wish to briefly discuss the difference between Confucian and Socratic approaches to understanding. Alfred Adler utilized the Socratic methods in his approach to counseling. I am in no way passing judgment on the different approaches, only to describe them, with the understanding that these are cultural tendencies. Asian cultures tend to be more collectivist whereas Western more individualistic. Confucius emphasized ‘effort in learning, behavioural reform, acquisition of essential knowledge and respectful learning.
