한국어 초록

본고의 목적은 신화의 문학교육적 가치를 밝히는 것이었다. 이를 위해 먼저 신화의 특성을 내용적 측면, 구조적 측면, 해석적 측면으로 나누어 살폈다. 내용적 측면의 특성은 1차적 고찰로, 구조적 측면의 특성은 2차적 분석으로, 해석적 측면의 특성은 3차적 투시로 살필 수 있었다.
신화의 내용적 측면의 특성은 ‘신성성, 특이성, 기원성’으로, 구조적 측면의 특성은 ‘천부지모, 영웅의 일생’으로, 해석적 측면의 특성은 ‘상징성, 제의성’으로 나누어 보았다.
내용적 측면의 특성에서 도출된 문학교육적 가치는 ‘성속의 분리와 조화’였다. 구조적 측면의 특성에서 추출된 문학교육적 가치는 ‘시련의 극복과 위업의 성취’였고, 해석적 측면의 특성에서 확인된 문학교육적 가치는 ‘보편성과 개별성의 탐색’이었다.
신화의 교재화나 교수-학습을 위해, 신화의 특성과 문학교육적 가치를 인지적 영역의 단계에 따라 위계화해 보았다. 내용적 측면의 특성인 신성성, 특이성, 기원성과 문학교육적 가치인 성속의 분리와 조화는 지식ㆍ이해 단계의 수준이었다. 그리고 구조적 측면의 특성인 천부지모, 영웅의 일생과 문학교육적 가치인 시련의 극복과 위업의 성취는 적용ㆍ분석 단계의 수준이었고, 보편성과 개별성의 탐색은 평가 단계의 수준이었다.
따라서 지식ㆍ이해 수준인 신성성, 특이성, 기원성과 성속의 분리와 조화는 저학년 또는 초등학교 과정에서 교수-학습해야 한다. 적용ㆍ분석 수준인 천부지모, 영웅의 일생과 시련의 극복과 위업의 성취는 중학년 또는 중학교 과정에서 교수-학습해야 한다.
그리고 평가 수준인 상징성, 제의성과 보편성과 개별성의 탐색은 고학년 또는 고등학교 과정에서 교수-학습해야 한다.

영어 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the significance of literary education in Korean Myth. Most of all, the features of the myth are to be dealt with in three aspects; the content, the structure, and its interpretation.
First, its content covers the sacredness, the extraordinariness and the origin. Second, its structure is characterized by the heaven-father and earth-mother plot or the heroic life. Third, its interpretation is usually developed into the symbolization and the ritualization.
Based on these characteristics above, the literary education in Korean myth is to be focused on the harmonization and separation between the spiritual and the secular, the heroic overcoming all the obstacles and hardships and their great achievements, and the pursuit of the universality and individuality, which have been instructed regardless of the students' levels in school.
But it needs to be more hierarchized in accordance with its significance and the students' levels in school.
Firstly, the harmonization and separation between the spiritual and the secular belongs to the level of knowledge in the cognitive fields. Secondly, the heroic overcoming all the obstacles and hardships and their great deeds depend on the level of comprehension and application. Thirdly, the pursuit of the universality and individuality is concerned with the level of analysis and synthesis.
Therefore, it is necessary to teach these literary significances and characteristics on Korean myth according to grade level or development level of students. Knowledge, comprehension and application fields are mainly involved with the convergent cognitive level, which is suitable for a primary school or the lower classes. And analysis and synthesis fields are related with the divergent cognitive level, which is more suitable for a junior high school or higher classes.
