The purpose of this paper is to understand the concept of education based on a post-structuralapproach with emphasis on difference rather than identity when we consider the concept such as
education.
The concept of education mainly has been understood in the view of initiation which comes
from western analytic philosophy. Its logic is assumed that language has the essence of things
and the structure of language is identical to the essence of the world. That is based on the view
of foundational reality. On the other hand, the view of post-structuralism emphasizes the
difference of concept and value. For example, Wittgenstein's later philosophy revealed the error of
structuralism and then he adopted functionalism in conceptual understanding. Also, Deleuze
proposed the impotance of difference when we recognize all things and phenomenon.
In this paper, it is argued that the concept of education should be evaluated based on the
difference of the social and cultural context, whereby a certain concept of education is adapted
and used. Particularly, the post-structural approach on conceptualization of education could
recognize the meaning of education on the developmental difference of life and acknowledge the
unique values of various educational contexts more than structural thinking.
