The purpose of this study was to analyse the characteristics of physique, body composition and physical and the relationship of physical fitness to physique and nody composition in athletes of Boy's and Girl's elementary school in Busan metropolitan city.In this study 9 ractors in physique, 4 factors in body composition and 7 factors in physical fitness were measured and analysed. The results of the study were as follows:
1. The comparison of physiques.
The sitting height was showed higher in boy athalie than girls, but the standing height, body weight, vhest girth., upper limb length, upper arm girth. forearm girth and calf girth were not showed significantly different.
2. The comparison of body composition.
There were no significant differences in body density, percentage of body fat, total body fat and lean body mass.
3. The comparison of physical fitness
The grip strength, standing long jump, closed -eyes foot balance and VO2max ware should higher in boys than girls, but there were no significant differences in sit-ups , side step and standing trunk flexion.
4. The relationships between physique and physical fitness.
There were significant relationships between grip strength and thigh girth.
between standing long jump and standing height and between grip strength and height, body weight, chest grip, sitting geight, upper limb length, upper arm girth, forearm girth and thigh girth in boys.
In girls there were significant relationships between grip strength and standing height, upper limb length and closed-eyes foot balance and upper arm girth. between VO2max and standing height and between closed-eye foot balance and forearm girth.
5. The relationships between body composition grip strength and %body fat, body fat and lean body mass in boys.. and in girls there were significant relationships between standing jump and %fat), closed-eyes foot balance and body fat.
