본문내용
가. 삼성생명(의) 입사를 위한 기본정보삼성그룹(三星) 계열 생명보험회사. 과거 본사는 서울특별시 중구 태평로2가 150번지 삼성플라자 빌딩이었지만 2016년 부영그룹에 매각하고[2] 삼성그룹 서초사옥으로 이전하여 현재는 본사 주소가 서울특별시 서초구 서초대로74길 11 (서초동, 삼성타운)이다. 국내 보험업계 빅3(삼성생명, 한화생명, 교보생명) 중 하나로 수십년째 독보적인 1위를 지켜오고 있다. 삼성의 올인을 받아 퇴직연금 부문에서 독보적인 1위를 달리고 있으며 각종 종신보험, 건강상해보험, 연금보험, 저축보험, 자산운용업, 대출업 등을 하고 있다. 삼성증권, 삼성카드 등과는 협업관계.
1957년 5월에 부산공사 및 대한제유 사주 강의수(1911~1963)[5] 가 '동방생명보험'으로 설립하여 1962년에 동화백화점과 동양화재를 인수하며 동남증권도 설립했으나 1963년에 동화백화점, 동양화재, 동남증권과 함께 삼성그룹으로 편입된 후 1968년 대한재보험과 재보험계약을 맺었다. 1971년 전산실을 발족하고 1978년 경기도 용인군에 연수원을 세운 후, 1982년 동방사회복지재단을 세웠다. 1983년 국제단체보험제도에 가입하고 1984년 태평로2가에 세워진 갈색 신사옥으로 이전했다. 1988년 동성투자자문과 동방빌딩관리를 각각 세우고 전국 영업소 간 온라인망 체계를 확립했다. 1989년 7월에 삼성생명으로 사명을 변경하고 1990년 국내 보험업계 최초로 펌뱅킹을 도입했다. 1991년 미국 뉴저지에 처음으로 현지법인을 두고 삼성생명서비스를 세웠다. 1993년 국내 보험업계 최초로 보유계약고 2백조 원을 돌파하고 11월 보험경영연구소를 세웠다. 1994년 업계 최초로 '보험품질보증제도'를 선언하고 1998년 동양투자신탁을 인수한 후 퇴출생보사 국제생명의 보험계약까지 인수했다. 2001년 전화로센터 및 e비지니스팀을 STS와 인피언컨설팅으로, 2002년 채권관리센터를 A&D투자센터로 각각 분사시켰다.
