본문내용
Standardized tests discriminate against some groups of students. Test scores are used as the important criteria for judging the success or failure of students. Students could be evaluated in various ways like volunteering and assignment scores. Some people insist that standardized tests are impartial methods for measuring students achievements since it is objective. Standardized tests might also differentiate children who have low-income and minority-group backgrounds from children who have high-income and majority-group backgrounds.
Standardized tests divide students into two groups, low-performing students and high-performing students. Low-performing students are forced to make their test scores go up than the previous test scores. These achievement differences on tests are made even more prominent to students, and the gap in motivation will grow between the high and low performers. However, it is true that students are being tested on a too narrow range of achievements. It is difficult to measure students ability adequately by standardized tests since students have various characteristics and capability. It can show nothing but memorizing ability in short term
