I truly realized that the proverb, ‘Time flies like an arrow’. Four weeks have already passed since I participated in the practicum as a prospective teacher. Through practicum, I have learned a lot of new things and understood the school reality. I think that I will not forget this time and miss all of my students and teachers. It was a great time of my university life.
However, I am happy in taking my pupils and getting close to them. We made conversation when we met in a classroom, cafeteria, and even toilet. What I enjoyed most is getting to know my students and love them. We had a great time in school. Especially, I like to make my lessons more liberal environment. It means that I tried to make students express their opinion during the classes. I believe that it could have them understood more. Also I made diverse activities for my classes such as puzzles and bingo game, arrangement of the sentences, comprehension check up quiz, cloze test, T/F questions, and pop songs. I worked on making good materials very hard. These experiences will stay with me as a happy memory.
Meanwhile, I could find many problems in the school during practicum.
First of all, the facilities of school are poor. TV Monitor, for example, is so small that students could not watch the contents on the monitor from behind the classroom. Also it is hard that students whose classroom near a music room could not hear what the teacher said because of a lot of noise. I wonder the public school system would be helpful for pupils to live in the future. Also many teachers said the air condition is so bad that almost all of them consulted a doctor because of the problems of their laryngitis or vocal cords.
