This paper analyzes body-parts time expressions in Korean and Japanese from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. The results of the analysis is the following: First, among the human body parts, parts of a head are mostly utilized for time expressions in Korean and Japanese. Second, eyes and nose are the organs that are mostly used for time expressions in Korean. In contrast, eyes and mouth are the organs that are mostly used for time expressions in Japanese. Third, what is found is that those body parts are used to express future or present rather than past, the beginning of a event rather than the end, and a short span of time rather than a longer one in Korean and Japanese. Fourth, hands and stomach are used for time expressions in Japanese. In contrast, such expressions are not used in Korean.
