-Introduction-
The revolution in transport system was meant-to-be in British history along
with Industrial Revolution. The first step in developing transportation dealt with the
road condition in cities of Britain. With many different inventive ideas, British
started building canals for better transportation of goods and people. Later on,
railways (trains) take a huge part in British transport system that such way of
commuting made it possible for Britain to maintain the top rank in industries among
other nations in the world. Due to such importance of transportation, it is
meaningful to have a close look at developments of historical British transport
system from the changes first occurred in roads.
