Paris, Texas, a drama film directed by Wim Wenders is basically about a journey for desire. It shows the process how Travis, the main character pursues his main desire to rebuild up his relationship between his son and solve the problem with wife caused by his jealousy in the past. What’s interesting is that this film clearly reveals this pilgrimage even though the plot is not chronological. Therefore, it would be meaningful to analyze the plot structure with 29 functions that make his journey probable and convincing.
To begin with, the initial situation is actually a function in this film because clearly, something happened. It is not revealed yet, but the audience can infer the initial situation from several clues. For instance, Travis has no bags or carriages except an empty bottle of drinks, wears unsuitable clothes for a desert, and
