This essay is about the spatial setting in literature and how the settings, especially the local surroundings, can influence the mood of the story, and how identify the character`s characteristics. The most well known novel, [Wuthering Heights] written by Emily Bronte, shows that surroundings of literature are closely related to human nature and events. This essay analyzes and compares surroundings of [A Rose for Emily] and [The Fall of the House of Usher] and influence to plots of those writings.
