Primary Words and the Quality of Relation(근원어와 관계의 질)
Buber`s formulation of the two primary words, I-You and I-It, is intended to illustrate the quality of relationship that is being experienced. 부버의 두 가지 근원어(나-너와 나-그것)의 표현은, 경험되어지고 있는 관계의 질을 설명하기 위한 것입니다. They represent the state of an individual`s inner attitude towards being and reality and serve to establish a mode of existence. 그들은 존재와 현실을 향한 개인의 내적 태도의 상태를 설명하고, 존재의 방식을 결정하는 것을 도와준다. The I-You and the I-It thus express an individual`s mode of being in the world. 나-너와 나-그것은 세계속에서 개인의 존재방식을 설명한다. While the I-You `can only be spoken with the whole being`, the I-It `can never be spoken with the whole being.` 나-너는 전체존재와 말해질 수 있지만, 나-그것은 전체존재로 말해줄 수 없다. Buber explains that there can be no I except for that which is in relation with a `You` or an `It`. 부버는 너 또는 그것과의 관계에 속에 있는 것을 제외한 ‘나’는 있을 수 없다. Furthermore, the I of the primary word I-You is a different I from that of the I of the primary word I-It. 뿐만이니라, 나-너의 나는 나-그것의 나와는 다른 나이다.
For Buber, each individual is the sum of his or her relations with other people and things. 부버에 의하면, 각 개인은 다른 사람 & 사물들과 그들의 관계의 합이다. A person is as he or she relates to a particular environment. 사람은 특정 환경과의 관계이다. Rather than being composed of certain fixed attributes which more accurately define an individual`s character, Buber understood human beings to be dynamic in the sense that each person is in a state of becoming. 존재는 고유한 속성이 개인의 성격을 더 정확하게 정의하는 고유의 속성들이 구성되었기 보다는, Buber 인간이 되는 것은 각각의 사람이 적절한 상태에 있다는 의미에서 관계되어지는 것으로 이해했다. A person`s character is thus constructed and ever re-constructed according to the type and quality of relations entered into.사람의 성격은 관계들의 형태와 질에 의해 구성 또는 재구성 된다. Buber`s conception of the evolving individual explains how society, understood as the product of human relationships, should also be dynamic and ever reinvent itself. Buber의 개념은 인간 관계의 산물로서 이해되는 사회가, 또 동적해야하는 방법도 스스로를 재발견 설명했다. The idea of static societies and the reifications which help to perpetuate them is unacceptable to Buber since it is not social structures and other reifications of subjective thought which represent the true meaning of existence(존재의 진정한 의미에 해당하는).
