Divorce is the formal ending of a marriage by law. If a man and woman divorce or if one of them divorces the other, their marriage is legally ended.
Koreas divorce rate is rising at an astronomical rate. In the early 1980s it stood at around 5 percent. By the mid-1990s it was around 25%, and by 2001 the rate had risen to around 30%. Last year, Korea had one of the highest divorce rates in the world. Especially, the number of twilight divorces has been growing sharply.
In 1999, a grandmother in her 70s filed for divorce. However, a court dismissed the suit and advised the woman to continue the marriage with the abusive husband. All Korean dailies reported it as just a ridiculous happening. It has been criticized that the court trampled upon women rights.
I think that is against the Constitution. The court seemed to disregard the right to pursue her happiness. Every women has the right to decide her divorce which deduced from the right to pursue her happiness. This is a constitutional rights
