Sum up the first story.
Amy is a charming and cheerful girl. She has a boy friend, Victor, but her mother Catherine doesn`t like him because he looks poor and has no potential. Catherine & Amy are in a cafe. Now, Catherine persuades Amy to make an appointment to go on a blind date) with a certain guy. But Amy strongly rejects her suggestion because she thinks she already has her own soul-mate. Amy introduces Victor to Catherine, but Catherine refuses even to talk with him because she thinks love is less important in marriage than money or social status. In spite of the Catherine`s objection, they marry and there`s no contact with mother, Catherine. After 5 years, the situation is completely opposite to what Amy dreamed. Victor has been unemployed for three months and becomes alcoholic. Amy suffers from his situation. At scene #2, the stage starts with Catherine`s entrance. Catherine is surprised at her poor daughter and her shabby appearance, and she starts to resent them both.
