Introduction
This report presents opinions and evaluations of information on the internal rate positioning, strategy and offering of The Westin Bayshore, Sheraton Well Center and JW Marriott Parq hotels located in downtown Vancouver. The room type is a standard king bed room, and price comparison was conducted three times (on February 12th, 27th, and March 12th) over six weeks, targeting April 15th (an alternative holiday due to Easter’s day on April 17th). Moreover, the report identified and addressed factors that contributed to why the three hotels were competitive.
Analysis and Evaluation of situation
First, before approaching the analysis, the pros and cons of the three hotels were investigated from the perspective of customers that affect price adjustment.
• Hotel 1: The Westin Bayshore, Vancouver
- Pros: Vancouver’s only resort style hotel in the city center, panoramic harbor views, located near tourist sites (Aquarium, Stanley Park, English Bay, seawall, and so forth), indoor and outdoor pools, signature Heavenly Bed.
- Cons: Transportation is inconvenient.
