VACCINE
A vaccine is a type of medicine that trains the body’s immune system so that it can fight a disease it has not come into contact with before.
Vaccines are designed to prevent disease, rather than treat a disease once caught.
HOW VACCINE WORKS?
Recognizes the germ in the vaccine as being foreign.
Responds by making antibodies to the germ in the vaccine, just as it would for the real germ.
Remembers the germ and how to destroy it. That way, if we are ever exposed to the disease-causing germ in the future, our immune system will be able to quickly destroy it before it has a chance to make us sick. This is how we get immunity from vaccines.
