본문내용
Activity theory (apprenticeship) is originated from the work of Vygotsky and others. It is a complex theory which draws on many disciplines, and it has far-reaching implications for education. Vygotsky's concept of mediation, which encompassed learning alongside others(ZDP) and through interaction with artifacts, was the basis of AT. It explains human thought processes not merely by the individual, but in the broader context of the individual's interactions within the social world through artifacts and in situations where activities were being produced. To apply AT for the classroom, teachers should be aware that the classroom has a social-cultural meaning. The learners will interact with each other and with the teacher, and that will be mediated. Teachers also need to ensure that activities are relevant and interactive.

TBLT is centered on meaningful tasks using “target” language (the language being learned) in real-life situations, as opposed to focusing on the target language on its own.
