The objective of this experiment is to revise and analyze the relationship between drag coefficients and drag force. The experiment also explores how the shape of objects affects the flow of air and how this affects its drag force. Since velocity and Reynolds number are directly proportional, we expect increasing the velocity increase the Reynolds number hence the drag increases as well. The drag coefficient depends on the Reynolds number so the higher the Reynolds number the higher the drag coefficient. From the theory of laminar and turbulent flow, we expect the flow of the air at the corners of the rectangular object to be turbulent. So, after performing the experiment we expect the drag coefficient of the rectangular object to have maximum drag coefficient than the other three objects of different shapes we did the experiment on.
