Gerund Complements
(1) 동명사절만 보충어로 취하는 동사 : avoid, delay, dislike, enjoy, favor, finish, practice, resist, etc.
(2) 동명사 보충어를 갖는 전치사적 동사 : agree on, count on, decide on, depend on, insist on, etc.
(3) 동명사 보충어를 갖는 구 전치사적 동사 : look forward to, get away with, etc.
ex) a. They enjoy playing baseball.
b. We counted on receiving some help from him.
c. We look forward to seeing you next week.
(4) 동명사의 명시적 주어
① 동명사가 명시적 주어를 가지지 않는 경우
: 주절의 주어가 동명사의 의미상의 주어.
ex) a. You don`t mind calling me Tony, do you?
b. We discussed leaving all of our money to charity.
