These days, as far as learning is concerned, people began to wonder whether it is important to understand ideas and concepts than learning facts. Some people advocate that it is not. However, contrary to their idea, I think that it is crucial to understand ideas and concepts than learning facts. The rationale behind this is that once understood, it is easier to apply. What is more, people’s creativity can improve.




Another reason that should be taken into account is that it enhances people`s creativity. To be frank, novel ideas emerge when basic concepts are stored in the brain. Thus, people who only memorized the facts without gaining true understand cannot make up creative ideas and this can make them look smart only on the surface that is useless and not practical. On the contrary, those who understood concepts first can naturally have logical thinking and easily brainstorm which can help them to become a better person. For example, according to a study conducted by Seoul National University in 2005, professors found out that approximately 79.65percent of the students who understood the concepts first had more logical thinking skills and creative minds compared
