Introduction
Recently, I read an article about the fish-kill that hit Lake Sebu in the Philippines. According to Lake Sebu’s mayor - Floro Gandam, this fish-kill was triggered by “kamahong”, which is a phenomenon that is caused by the sudden rise of the water’s temperature (Estabillo). This event brought devastation to the citizens of Lake Sebu, with the massacre of tons of fishes. Although I knew that temperature can affect the metabolic reactions in fishes and other living organisms, the article I read recently gave me intuition of other factors to how temperature could kill marine animals. This triggered my interest in examining how the concentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) in water would change in different temperatures. Therefore in this investigation
