August 15, 1945 the country Joseon was divided into North Korea and South Korea. When Japan announced the broadcast of surrender, American army set the map of Korea and started to discuss about the region that America wants to govern. They choose the 38th parallel to be the line of division because they can have Seoul in their region. Tragedy was started by this decision that was decided within thirty minutes. When South Korea decided to have a presidential election in May 10, 1948 North and South divided perfectly. In South Korea, President Syngman Rhee started to govern and president Il-sung Kim started to govern North Korea.
Five Years later, early morning of Sunday, June 25, North Korea attacked South Korea illegally without any declaration and the Korean War happened. There was a time we lost Seoul to North Korea, but in the end of September, Korean Army and the UN forces was reached until the river Yalu because of success in Incheon Landing Operation.
