본연구에서는서울시소재전체중학교의교장을대상으로서울공립예술고등학교설립에대한인식조사를실시하였다. 공립예술고설립이유, 설립방안, 교육목표, 운영방안, 입학전형을중
심으로한설문의응답결과(총382개학교중144개학교, 37.7%의회수율)를종합하면다음과같
다.첫째,설문응답자의대다수는서울공립예술고등학교의설립을찬성하면서그이유로사회?
경제적요인과관계없이예술적잠재성을가진학생들에게전문교육의기회를제공해야한다는점
을들었다.둘째,설립방안에관한인식은다음과같았다.서울시중학교교장은교육과정과관련
해서학생의개성과수준을반영할수있는개별화과정,진로탐색을위한다양한프로그램등이제
공되어야한다고생각하였고,교육공간의충분한확보,전공교육에적합한기자재및시설의구축
등의교육환경이구성되어야한다고인식하였다.또한,효과적인행?재정적지원을위해서적정
수준의강사료가지급되어야하고,전공교과에대한충분한수의교원등이확보되어야한다는점
을들었다.셋째,대다수의응답자들은서울예술고등학교의교육목표로창의성신장과더불어실
기능력 강화를 우선시하였다. 또한 예술을 통한 교육목적이 예술을 위한 교육목적보다 중시되었
다.넷째,운영방안에관한인식은다음과같았다.대다수의응답자들이음악,미술,무용등의순
수예술전공을선호하였지만대중예술전공에관한수요및요구또한제기되었다. 또한, 서울시
중학교의교장은공립학교수준의보수수준, 4-6개의학급수, 11-20명의학급당학생수가적절
하다고생각하였다.다섯째, 대다수의응답자들은내신성적과실기시험위주인현입학전형에만
족한다고응답하였다.
영어 초록
This study was designed to conduct a survey to investigate the opinions of middle schoolprincipals in Seoul over the establishment of a Seoul public arts high school. The survey was
distributed to 382 middle schools in Seoul, and 144 schools decided to participate in this study,
resulting in a 37.7% responding rate. Based on the results of the survey, several important
findings were discovered. First, the majority of the respondents thought that students with an
artistic potential should have study opportunities regardless of their economic factors, so they
supported the establishment of a Seoul public arts high school. Second, the respondents’
opinions on the plan for establishing a Seoul public arts high school was the following; a public
arts high school should provide not only individualized education programs and career
exploration programs but also adequate education space and facilities for major education. Also,
reasonable fees for lesson instructors and arts teachers who have professional knowledge of
their own majors should be secured. Third, the majority of the respondents argued that arts
high schools should consider creativity development and performance skill improvement as
their major educational objectives. Fourth, not only pure arts majors but public arts majors were
chosen as the educational objectives of arts high schools. Regarding the school management
system, a salary level comparable to that of public schools, 4-6 classes, and 11-20 students per
class were considered appropriate. Finally, the current admission process focusing on the
academic records and performance tests was considered appropriate.
