In this research, I tried to find out how the conducted food art therapy program affected the teenager’s
self efficacy and their interpersonal relationship. The people who participate in this research were first
and second year M high school students in M city who were selected because they were willing to do
so after they were told by their teacher about the aim and contents of the FAT program. I divided 12
students into 2 in randomly basis. 6 of them were select selected as experimental group, and the other
6 students were chosen as control group.
I tried to find out the change observation record and above test by conducting before and after status
test, the self efficacy and interpersonal relation test to find out the effect of FAT.
Summarization of the result of this research is as follows.
First, FAT program was proven to have an effect for enhancement of teenager’s self efficacy. Namely,
there were slight differences in general between before and after test result in the sub area of self
efficacy and social self efficacy.
Second, FAT program was proven to have an effect for improvement of teenager. Namely, there were
slight differences between before and after test result in the area of interpersonal relationship. Only the
FAT conducted group had the difference.
The result of research was proven that FAT program has positive effect to teenager’s self efficacy and
interpersonal relationship. This influences the people to have experience through positive interaction by
using food medium of FAT, and affect their attitude to care other people by controlling their desire.
If FAT program is subdivided into more detail and developed as much as the development of future
teenage students, it would be very likely to have more efficient consultation activity.
