There are times in life when days can seem endless. It almost feels as if we are reliving the same day over and over again without a real meaning or a purpose in life. In Groundhog Day, produced by Trevor Albert, Bill Murray plays the main character Phil, who is a weatherman trapped in a time distortion on the worst day of his life. Phil wakes up everyday disgusted to find out that he is stuck in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania where he is to do a broadcast about the Groundhog Day. After a series of events, Phil learns embrace life as it comes. He learns how to live everyday to the fullest as he is transformed from shallow to a deep, insightful person. With his new compassion for life, he touches the lives of others. The death of the old man in Groundhog Day is an important symbol because it signifies Phil’s discovery to his true identity.
