Mobile phones became one of the major communication tools in Korea. According to the recent survey by Dongwon Securities, the mobile phone subscribers in the beginning of 2005 have surpassed thirty seven million and this number is about eighty percent of entire Korean population. Moreover, almost five million subscribers of those are teenagers, which is seventy four percent of total teenage population. When mobile phones made its debut in 1994 in Korea, it was used only for voice communication, but today people can also send text messages, access to the Mobile Internet, optional features such as digital camera and games. In particular, as the optional function is being added to mobile phones, the time that teenagers use mobile phones have increased. Although the mobile phone gives benefits to teenagers by connecting parents and friends more easily, it can also give negative side effects like mobile phone addiction, exposure to adult contents and harm from radiations emitted from the mobile phones.
