Also, as a way of emphasizing the role as a preliminary market, companies must stay within the OTCBB for certain period of time before advancing to either regular market or KOSDAQ market. By comparing the KOTCBB with the OTCBB and the AIM based on the researched data, one is informed to notice that from February 2000 to January 2001 139 companies have advanced to the regular market through the OTCBB and 60 through the AIM. However, Kangwon Land is the only advancer to the regular market through the OTCBB and one can conclude that until now the OTCBB has not functioned as a midway toward the KOSDAQ market. Therefore, it is critical to facilitate the transition by offering some kind of privilege(such as free of commission and benefit of priority inspection) to the appointed companies in the OTCBB. This facilitation, however, must be accompanied by radical renovation of the existing systems in order to guarantee prosperous future of the OTCBB
