Executive Summary and Introduction
Choosing the right career simply is the most fundamental and critical aspect for every employees as it is for the organization. Having to choose the right career (for the employees) can have positive influences in the organization, which seems very much idealistic. However, not everyone in the company is satisfied with what they are faced as their own career paths. This as a result, leads to employees to pursue a low ‘job performance and job satisfaction’, not to mention in some extreme cases they even choose to leave the company, which can be regarded as a critical loss for the firm. Fortunately, there is a preventive measure to direct employees (who believe they have chosen the wrong career path decisions) to choose their career paths voluntarily, while remaining satisfied. Throughout the report we would like to thoroughly elaborate on the function of Career Development Plan which promotes Organizational Behavior within the organization. We will look into two examples of career development programs that are implemented in Korean firms, LG electronics and Hyundai Card. We have decided to do so since it career development programs are rather new in Korea and wanted to see how they are doing. After looking at the programs, we will look at the limitations that these two firms are facing. As a conclusion, we would like to see what kind of implications career development programs have in the field of organizational behavior.
