부장행위는 죽은 사람에 대한 애도와 존경 등의 표시로 피장자나 분묘의 주위에 표현된다. 이는 의도적인 행위의 결과물로서 중요한 고고학적 자료이다. 부장행위와 관련된 고고학적 자료를 해석하기 에는 어려움이 따르지만, 부장행위의 존재를 부정할 수는 없을 것이다. 따라서 청동기시대의 분묘의 부장행위를 검토하기 위해 부장유물의 부장양상을 살펴보고자 하였다. 청동기시대 분묘의 부장행위는 지역에 따라 부장유물 및 부장위치·형태의 차이가 파악된다. 이는 지역이나 집단에 따라 부장풍습에 대한 인식의 차이가 존재하였던 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 남부지역의 부장풍습은 전기 후반에 피장자를 위한 위세품으로 출현한 뒤 점차 부장양상(형태, 세트 관계, 부장위치)이 다양해지며 지역성이 뚜렷해지기 시작한다. 피장자를 위한 위세품에서 의례적인 성격으로 변모하고 부장행위가 보편화된다. 부장풍습은 기존과 다른 매장 관습으로 인해 발생하고, 동일한 의미를 공유하면서도 집단의 차별화가 부장풍습의 상이성으로 표출되는 것으로 보인다. 부장양상의 차이는 분묘를 축조한 집단의 성격이나 의례행위, 피장자의 신체적 특징이나 매장방법 등과 관련하여 의도하는 바가 다르다는 점을 추정할 수 있다.

영어 초록

Funerary custom is an expression of paying tribute and respect to the deceased and an intentional behavior expressed around the grave or buried person, which is a significant archaeological material. There is difficulty interpreting archaeological material related to funerary custom, but the existence of funerary custom is undeniable. Therefore, this study aims to examine the funerary aspect of funerary relics to review the funerary custom of grave of the bronze age. As for the funerary custom of bronze age grave, the difference of funerary relics, location and shape by the region has been identified. This can be interpreted as difference in perception about funerary custom by region or group rather than the funerary aspect regarding the grave. It is assumed to have occurred due to the funerary custom of southern region different from the existing burial custom, and after it starts existing as elite grave goods for the buried during the second half of the early age, it starts to diversify in funerary aspect(form, set relation, funerary location), and have diversity and regionality of funerary custom by region. It is presumed to be the generalization of funerary goods and behavior after the elite burial goods for the dead has changed into ceremonial use. While sharing the same definition, the funerary custom shows dissimilarity by the differentiation of group, and there is high possibility that it is related to the characteristics of group that built the grave. It it hard to clearly comprehend what the difference of funerary aspect indicates, but it can be assumed that the funerary relics in the process of building has different meanings regarding the physical characteristics of the buried, burying method, or funerary ceremonial behavior.
