□ Introduction of GlaxoSmithKline
GlaxoSmithKline is one of the major pharmaceutical company in the world. In December 27th, of 2000 Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham agreed to merge two companies creating what is now known as GlaxoSmithKline. Glaxo Wellcome and SmithKline Beecham were major players in global healthcare business. GSK is engaged in the creation, discovery, development, manufacture and marketing of pharmaceutical and consumer health-related products. GSK has its corporate head office in London. It also has operational headquarters in Philadelphia and Research Triangle Park, USA. GSK operates in 117 countries, with products sold in 140 countries. The principal research and development facilities are in the UK, the USA, Japan, Italy, Spain and Belgium. Products are currently manufactured in 37 countries.
