본문내용
Recently, the two leaders, President Moon Jae-in of South Korea and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, came to an agreement to bring peace to the two countries after several summits. Many people across the world expects to see South and North Korea will bring about a new future. However, North Korean human rights problems can be an obstacle to peacebuilding between the two countries, because they have different ideologies and human rights consciousness. While the Republic of Korea is a democratic country that guarantees the freedom and human right of the people, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is a country where freedom and human rights are severely limited run by a dictator. Democracy is rooted on respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. On the other hand, communism usually curbs freedom and often censors thoughts of people.Surprisingly, firing squad is still happening in North Korea in the 21st century.
