In the 19th century, the United States was not the “No. 1” country in the world. After defeating the British in the Revolutionary War in the late 18th century, it was only then in the 19th century when they expanded their territory until California. The Gold Rush, Civil War, and the Reconstruction Era all occurred in this period. Also, this was when the United States decided to take in many immigrants for their industrialization, and Andrew Carnegie’s family was a part of them.목차

I. IntroductionIn the world we are living in today, Corporate Social Responsibility, abbreviated as CSR, became very important for most companies in the private sector. Philanthropy and volunteering are some good examples of CSR. Nevertheless, in our country, CSR still seems to be a concept that will reach us in the next few centuries or so. Only a handful of successful entrepreneurs and leaders in South Korea are aware of the importance of social responsibility of companies. They want to have authority but not social responsibility, which is very awkward. They must learn from the richest man in the late 19th century, Andrew Carnegie. His leadership based on philanthropy and entrepreneurship is very interesting. This report will mainly focus on Andrew Carnegie’s leadership in his company and his leadership in the society.
