1-1. Touch Screen
We will make 9-point Touch Screen(Sensor) in this Experiment. When we touch the Touch Screen Sensor, positions of finger can be detected. When we touch the panel, we should hold the ground node on the other finger. Touch Screen is consist of transparent panel, Clock Generator, Analog to Digital converter, Analog Front-end Circuit. [Figure. 1] shows Touch Screen circuit. So what is the principle of touchscreen? Working principle is due to Touch Screen's capacitor. In this situation, Capacitor is divided to Self Capacitance-electrical modeling and Mutual Capacitance-electrical modeling. Let's learn about that. 1-1-1. Self Capacitance-electrical modeling
In Self Capacitance-electrical modeling, all the electro nodes are grounded. (Capacitance of loads is zero, like short circuit) So in steady state, which is same as not touch state, current flows to ground formally. And each electro nodes' current(or load capacitance) is detected by sensor. When I touch the screen, the circuit's state changes.
