1.1 About 3M
3M company is a global innovation company that never stops innovating. Fundamentally, 3M is a science-based company. 3M innovations have improved daily life for millions of people all over the world – from healthcare to office products and abrasive and adhesives. The company success begins with their ability to apply technologies (often in combination) to an endless ray of real world customer needs.
3M organization is currently leaded by Inge. G. Thulin since 2012. 3M has 27 business units, managed under five business groups which are consumer, electronic and energy, health care, industrial, and safety and graphics. They operate in about 30 U.S states and 70 countries around the world. They have laboratories in 36 countries.
Vision
3M focused on Innovation on practical application and use of creativity and discovery and the innovation process focused in 3 main aspect which are technology, creativity (thinking of new things) and the markets and their customers.
