1. 주어(subject): 문장의 문법적 주어는 대화상의 주어
= The person or thing that the sentence is about.
대부분의 언어는 문장이 주어의 기능을 하는 낱말이나 구를 필요로 하지 않는다.
1) No hablo Ingles = I don't speak English. = 동사(주어가 포함)
2) English sentences should have subjects, with the exception of the imperative(Sit down).
= English is called a subject dominant language. = 7 language in the world.
* Syntax of the subject
= Early twentieth century school grammars drew a line between the subject and the predicate.
1. Children love animals.
The generative grammars of the 1970s used three diagrams in which he subject branches left and the predicate branches right. S stands for sentence.
