1) Introduction
Incheon is taking a more active role in the world as a key city in Northeast Asia. Incheon, a gateway to the Korea peninsula with a central airport, is making great strides as a nexus for global medical tourism, industrial information complexes, and tourist facilities and resort complexes, opening the global era in the transportation, logistics, and bio-industry fields based on infrastructure such as Incheon Port, Incheon International Air port, and Incheon Bridge.

The Sorae festival, designated as one of the region's fastest growing festivals, provides cultural and hands-on activities based on the unique features of Sorae, a traditional harbor in the port and the park.
Kicking off with a time-hallowed fishermen's ritual, the festival has a splendid opening ceremony, foods and sightseeing opportunities. The number of visitors is growing, and the festival is establishing itself as one of Incheon's signature festivals. The Bupyeong Pungmul Festival, the cultural center of incheon, provides a forum for Asian cultural exchange and an opportunity to exchange and communicate through openness and sharing of tradition. The festival has a 16-year history and attracts quite a few locals and visitors.
