Ⅰ. MRI 기술개요
1. 기술개요
■ 자기공명촬영장치.(MRI)
자기공명촬영장치는 고자장내에서 원자핵이 인가된 고주파 에너지에 공명하여 방출하는
에너지를 측정하고 이를 영상재구성함으로서 인체의 해부학적인 정보를 얻게 하는데, 이
것은 인체의 대부분을 차지하고 있는 물 성분 중 수소의 자기 모멘트 성질을 이용하여주
변 조직 상태에 자기공명신호 크기의 공간적 분포를 영상화하는 원리를 이용한 것이다.
이 장치는 1973년 Lauterbur에 의해 처음 영상이 얻어진 이래, 지난 20년 동안 비약적
인 발전을 이룩하여 현재 인체 내부 조직을 비혈관적으로 관찰할 수 있게 되었고, 조직생
리학적 정보까지 제공하고 있다. 또한 인체에 유해한 방사선을 발생하지 않고 환자의 해
부학적 구조 및 생리학적 정보를 얻을 수 있으며, 뇌, 뼈, 관절, 복부 및 각종 질환 등에
탁월한 진단의 정확도를 보이는 최첨단 영상 장치이다.
자기공명촬영장치의 기본 원리는 마그네트, Gradient Amp, RF Amp, 스펙트로미터, 마
그네트 전원 공급 장치(MPSU, magnet power supply unit), 콘솔, LASER imager,Shield
room, 자동전압조정장치, 항온항습기, RF coil, 기타부속장비들로 구성되어 있다.

2. 기술개발동향
MRI의 핵심인 마그넷은 영구자석, 개방형구조, 저헬륨소비형, 고강도, 경량화 그리고 컴팩
트화 추세이고, 자장강도에 있어서 0.5T 시장은 0.3T 영구자석이나 1.0T로 이전 중이며,
1.0T와 1.5T의 마그넷 가격 차이가 좁혀지면서 1.5T가 주를 이루고 있는 추세이다. 최근
3T와 4T까지 자장강도를 올리는 경향이고, 선진국의 주요 연구기관뿐만 아니라, 병원에서
도 그 관심이 높아지고 있다. GE가 독립적으로, SIMENS가 BRUKER와 연대하고, PICKER
는 SMIS를 흡수하여 개발을 하고 있다.
MRI의 촬영 시간이 긴 단점을 보안하기 위하여 Echo Planar Imaging 등의 초고속 촬영
술이 개발되어 왔고, 빠른 스위칭과 높은 강도를 gradient system 분야에 제공해 왔다.
