초록

1529년 10월 1일부터 4일까지 개최되었던 마르부르크 종교회담에서 루터와 츠빙글리는 성찬론에 대하여 합의할 수 없었다. 이후 1530년 신성로마제국 황제 칼 5세는 츠빙글리파를 배제한 채, 아우크스부르크 제국의회를 통하여 루터파를 중심으로 프로테스탄트 진영과 가톨릭 진영을 일치시키고자 시도했다. 이후 그는 프랑스의 프랑소아 1세가 자신의 종교개혁운동의 후원자가 될 것이라고 기대하며 《기독교 신앙해제, Expositio fidei Christianae》을 저술, 헌정했다. 따라서 본 문헌에는 루터와 확연하게 구별되는 츠빙글리의 종교개혁사상을 소개할 수밖에 없었다. 이를 위하여 성찬론이 중점적으로 서술되었으며, 성찬론에 내포된 그의 핵심적인 개혁신학의 사상, ‘하나님과 피조물의 질적인 차이에 근거한 하나님의 절대주권’이 부각되어 있다. 성찬은 예수 그리스도의 희생의 상징 혹은 기념이며, 그리스도의 영적 임재 속에서 그리스도인의 거룩한 삶의 결단의 계기를 제공하는 예배예식으로서, 인간의 우상화 배격과 하나님의 절대주권의 확립을 지향한다. 《기독교 신앙해제, Expositio fidei Christianae》에서 피력한 츠빙글리의 성찬론의 핵심내용은 당시 그가 동료개혁자들에게 보낸 편지에서 그대로 증명되고 있다. 《기독교 신앙해제, Expositio fidei Christianae》를 통하여 확립된 츠빙글리의 체계적인 성찬론은 루터주의와 구별되는 츠빙글리주의의 핵심을 규명할 수 있는 중요한 신학적 단서가 되었으며, 개혁주의 성찬론의 토대를 제공했다.

영어초록

The Marburg Colloquy was the meeting that took place in Marburg, Germany, October 1-4, 1529, between representatives of the German Reformation and the Swiss Reformation. Luther and Zwingli fell out over the sacrament of the Eucharist at the Colloquy of Marburg. In 1530, Holy Roman Emperor Charles V attempted to unite the Protestant and Catholic forces centered on the Lutherans through the Imperial Diet of Augsburg, excluding the Zwinglians. Afterwards, he wrote “A Short and Clear Exposition of the Christian Faith” and dedicated it to François I, King of France, hoping that François I, King of France would be the sponsor of his protestant reformation. Therefore, this document had no choice but to introduce Zwingli’s reformation theology, which was clearly distinct from Luther’s reformation theology. For this purpose, the doctrine of the Eucharist is described in detail, and his the most importatnt theological idea contained in the doctrine of the Eucharist, ‘the absolute sovereignty of God’. The Eucharist is a symbol or memorial of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and a worship service that realizes the spiritual presence of Christ and provides an opportunity for Christians to decide on a holy life. It aims to reject idolizing humans and establish the absolute sovereignty of God. The core content of Zwingli’s doctrine of the Eucharist, which he expressed in “A Short and Clear Exposition of the Christian Faith” is proven in the letters he sent to his fellow reformers at that time. Zwingli’s systematic doctrine of the Eucharist, which is established through “A Short and Clear Exposition of the Christian Faith”(Expositio fidei Christianae), became an important theological clue that can clarify the core of Zwinglianism that distinguishes it from Lutheranism, and provided the foundation of the Reformed doctrine of the Eucharist.
