야곱 가족의 역기능성과 그 치유 과정에 대한 목회상담학적 이해: Bowen의 가족치료 이론을 중심으로45 (An Understanding for Dysfunction of Jacob’s Family and the Therapy Process from a Pastoral Counseling Perspective: Centered on Bowen’s Family Theory)

초록

본 연구는 머레이 보웬(Murray Bowen)의 다세대적 가족치료 관점에서 창세 기에 나타난 야곱과 그의 가족사를 분석하고 그 치료과정을 살펴봄으로, 임 상목회 현장 속에서 역기능적인 증상들로 고통 받는 신자들과 교회공동체를 돌보는 방안을 모색하는 것에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 창세기에 등장하는 야 곱의 이야기에 대한 성경신학적인 주해 작업의 성과물과 보웬의 가족치료 이론을 연결 짓는 작업을 통해, 야곱이 보이는 역기능적인 증상들을 가족시 스템과의 관계성 속에서 이해하려고 시도했다. 특히 야곱 안에 존재했던 불 안과 두려움이라는 핵심감정들과 역기능적인 증상들이 가족 구성원들 사이 에서 어떻게 기능했는지, 또한 어떠한 과정을 통해 낮은 분화 수준에 머물렀 던 야곱이 성장할 수 있었는지 그 치료적 동인을 찾는 것에 중점을 두었다.
보웬의 이론에 따르면, 야곱이 보여주는 감정반사행동, 라헬과 요셉에 대한 편애, 삼각관계의 형성, 두려움과 불안의 회피, 경쟁의식의 세대 전수 등의 역기능적인 증상들은 모두 낮은 자기분화로부터 기인한다. 물론 이런 야곱의 낮은 분화수준은 창세기 32장 이후 여러 사건들을 거치면서 변화와 성장을 경험한다. 야곱이 형성한 역기능적인 삼각관계의 큰 축은 소유물 혹 은 사람과의 융합에 따른 삼각관계이며, 다른 축은 자신의 불안과 두려움이 라는 핵심감정으로부터의 미분화에 따른 역기능적인 삼각관계였다. 이런 역 기능적인 삼각관계들은 얍복강 사건과 디나 사건, 벧엘 사건 그리고 요셉 사 건 속에 개입하신 하나님의 치료적 작업을 통해 해체되었다. 특히 시련을 통 해 요셉을 강제적으로 야곱으로부터 분리시키심은 야곱의 낮은 분화수준의 세대 전수를 끊으신 하나님의 놀라운 은혜이다. 이 과정 속에서 하나님은 직 면과 코칭으로, 야곱의 성장 수준에 발맞춰 비계(飛階, scaffolding) 기법에 따 른 치료적 개입을 보여주셨다. 이처럼 야곱 가족의 역기능성과 보웬의 가족 치료 이론을 연결 짓는 본 연구는 낮은 자기분화 수준으로 인해 다양한 역 기능적인 증상들로 고통 받고 있는 신자들과 교회 공동체를 도울 수 있는 치료적통찰을제공해줄수있다. 특히교회공동체내에서드러나는신자 개인 혹은 교회 내부의 역기능적인 문제들을 교회체계 내의 문제로 보게 하 고, 교회 구성원들 간의 관계성 속에서 다루게 하는 치료적 관점을 제공한다 는 점은 중요한 의의라고 볼 수 있다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study was to find ways to care for believers and the church community who suffer from the symptoms of dysfunction in clinical pastoral scene through analyzing Jacob and his family history presented in Genesis and trying to examine the course of treatment in terms of Murray Bowen's multigenerational family therapy. To achieve this purpose, it was trying to understand Jacob's symptoms of dysfunction in relationship with the family system through connecting outcome of biblical-theological anno- tation work about Jacob's story presented in Genesis and Bowen's theory of family therapy. In particular, how core feelings such as anxiety and fear and dysfunctional symptoms that existed in Jacob function among family members, and what process that Jacob was able to grow from the low differ- entiation level, finding the therapeutic drivers were focused on.
According to the theory of Bowen, dysfunctional symptoms such as emotional reactivity behavior showed by Jacob, personal preference to Rachel and Joseph, formation of the triangular relationship, avoidance of fear and anxiety, transmission of competition consciousness generation to generation were all originated from low self-differentiation. Of course, Jacob's low level of differentiation experienced change and growth through several incidents described Genesis chapter 32 and later. The main axis of Jacob's dysfunctional love triangle was triangular relationship with fusion one's property or people, other axis was dysfunctional triangular relationship with undifferentiating from the important feelings of own anxiety and fear. This dysfunctional love triangle has been dismantled over the therapeutic work of God who intervened in the case of the Jabbok River event, the Dena event, the Bethel event, and the Joseph event. In particular through the ordeal, it was amazing grace of God that Joseph forcibly separated from Jacob in order to cut the generation transmission of a low level of differentiation.
In this process, God showed therapeutic intervention with confronting and coaching by a scaffolding method according to Jacob's growth level. Thus, by relating dysfunctional symptoms of Jacob's family to Bowen's theory of family therapy, this study can be provided with a therapeutic in- sight for helping believers and the church community who are suffering from dysfunctional symptoms. In particular, it can be seen as an important significance that therapeutic point of view is provided such as dysfunction problems of individual or inner church see problems in the church system, and these problems deal with relationship among church members.
