초록

본고는 1967년 유일 주체사상체계 확립 이후 1970∼80년대 북한문학의 지배 담론과 북한 소설 텍스트의 균열 양상을 연구하기 위해 『1932년』, 『청춘송가』, 『벗』을 분석하였다. 이 시기는 북한문학의 경직성과 유연성을 함께 살펴볼수 있다는 점에서 남북한 문학의 이질성과 함께 공통감각을 확인할 수 있는 시공간에 해당한다. 1970년대 북한문학은 ‘공산주의적 교양과 공산주의 세계관’의강조 속에 ‘온 사회의 주체사상화’를 강조하는 문학예술로 수렴된다. 특히 4.15문학창작단이 김일성의 혁명역사를 연대기적 형식으로 형상화한 ‘총서 <불멸의역사>’ 중 『1932년』(1972) 등은 ‘기념비적 작품’으로 강조된다는 점에서 분석이 필요한 텍스트에 해당한다. 『1932년』은 ‘수령형상문학’의 출발을 알리는 ‘총서 <불멸의 역사>’의 첫 번째 장편소설에 해당하지만, 역설적이게도 ‘수령형상의도식화’를 강제하면서 무오류적 영웅의 일대기를 서사화하고 있다는 점에서 비판적 독해의 대상이 된다.
1980년대 북한문학은 ‘주체의 인간학’을 발전시키기 위해 ‘작품의 종자’를 똑바로 잡으면서, 새로이 ‘청년공산주의자들의 형상과 숨은 영웅들의 형상”을 창조할 것이 강조된다. ‘숨은 영웅’들은 ‘높은 당성과 심오한 철학성, 도식주의의 극복’을 위해 강조된 캐릭터에 해당한다. 1980년대 숨은 영웅을 형상화하는 가운데 북한 소설의 균열적 지점을 예각화하는 작품으로는 남대현의 『청춘송가』(1987)와 백남룡의 『벗』(1988)을 분석하였다. 먼저 『청춘송가』는 ‘혁명적 동지애’의 믿음과 사랑만을 강조하던 방식에서 벗어나 다양한 연애관의 표출과 연애관의 변화를 드러내고 있다는 점에서 북한문학의 새로운 표정을 보여준다. 또다른 대표작인 『벗』은 정진우 판사가 순희와 석춘 부부의 이혼 위기를 극복하게해주는 ‘숨은 영웅’이면서도 끊임없이 자기 부부의 가정 생활에 대한 진솔한 고민과 고백 속에 동요하는 내면을 드러내고 있다는 점에서 북한문학의 사실주의적 새로움을 보여준다.
1970∼80년대 북한문학은 ‘온 사회의 주체사상화’를 주창하면서 ‘수령의 전일적인 지배’가 강조되던 시기에 해당한다. 해방 이후 20년 남짓한 시기 동안‘고상한 사실주의’와 ‘사회주의 사실주의’를 강조하면서도 줄곧 이어지던 문학 텍스트의 다성성과 문학적 논쟁의 다양성은 1967년 이후 수면 아래로 잦아든다. 그리고 일종의 문학적 암흑기에 해당하는 ‘수령형상문학’의 초점화가 강제된다. 물론 1980년 이후 ‘숨은 영웅의 발굴과 도식주의의 극복’ 등을 강조하면서 사회주의 현실의 내면과 속살을 진솔하게 드러내는 『청춘송가』와 『벗』 등의 작품을 1980년대 후반에서야 만나게 된다.

This paper investigates the dominant discourse of North Korean literature in the 1970s∼1980s and the cracking patterns of North Korean novel texts. In the 1970s, North Korean literary works, particularly three immortal classic works including {Blood Sea}, were mentioned as important texts in the book “The History of Immortality”’, which is a novel of Kim Il Sung’s life. In the 1970s, North Korean literature converged into a literary art emphasizing the “subjectivism of the whole society” in the communist culture and communist worldview. In particular, {The Year 1932}(1972) of the series “The History of Immortality”, in which the 4.15 Literary Creation Group shaped the revolutionary history of Kim Il Sung in chronological form, is emphasized as a monumental work.
In the 1980s, North Korean literature emphasized the need to take the “seeds of works” straight to develop the “anthropology of the subject”. At this time, a newly emerged character group is depicted as “the image of youth communists and the shape of hidden heroes.” The “hidden heroes” reveal a “sublime ideological beauty and beautiful spirit world.” In addition, they are depicted as having a noble level of “faithfulness to the party and its leader.” In the end, the existence of “aesthetic influence” devoted to and serving the “party and leader, country and people” is expressed through the “hidden hero.” It was a time to emphasize “high wisdom and profound philosophy and the overcoming of schematicism.” This paper analyzed Kwon Jung-woong’s {The Year 1932}(1972), Nam Dae-hyun’s {Singing the Song of Youth}(1987), and Baeknam Ryong’s {Friend}(1988). {The Year 1932}, a representative work of the 1970s, is the first feature novel in the series “The History of Immortality”, Paradoxically, however, it reinforces the schematization of the form of the slave figure and narrates the biography of an infinite hero. In this respect, it is a subject for critical reading. In the 1980s, the works of {Singing the Song of Youth}(1987) of Namdae Hyun and Baek Nam-ryong’s {Friend}(1988) were analyzed as the works that exemplify the crack point of North Korean novels. First, the representative works of the 1980s, are devoid of the former exclusive emphasis on the faith and love of “revolutionary comradeship.” They reveals new expressions of North Korean literature by revealings various expressions of a love relations and change of a love relations.
Another famous work, {Friend}, is depicted as a “hidden hero,” which allows the judge to overcome the crisis of Sunhee and Sukchun’s divorce. Nevertheless, it reveals the constantly shaking inner side in the frank worry and confessions about the couple’s family life. In this sense, it is a person who shows the realistic novelty of North Korean literature.
During the 1970s∼1980s, North Korean literature emphasized the “full-time dominance of the ruling class,” advocating the diversity of literature and literary controversy of literary texts, which continued to emphasize “socialist realism” for more than twenty years after liberation, but which subsided after 1967. Moreover, it was forced to focus on the “form of literature” corresponding to a kind of literary darkness. Of course, since 1980, the emphasis has been on “the discovery of hidden heroes and the overcoming of schematicism.” In the late 1980s, {Singing the Song of Youth} and {Friend}, genuinely revealed the inner life of socialist reality,
