Tang and Uyghur established a close relationship was maintained from the beginning. Tang in association with the Uyghur destroyed Turk and Xueyantuo then by the attack. Since maintaining an intimate relationship with Tang, Uyghur were grown on the north, as the only superpower.
As An Lushan Rebellion broke out, Tang in rebellion of the internal and external tribes were exposed to the threat. Tang, who was favorable long-term assistance was asked to Uyghur. Uyghur also wants to intervene in the civil war. Because Re-emerged through the An Lushan Rebellion Turk forces was a risk factor for of Uyghur. In addition, many Uyghur from the Tang treasure was hoping to be able to obtain. At this point it appeared that horse and silk trade in the way of financial compensation. Because of Uighur's participation the war came to an end.
Tang for a long time was plagued by attacks from hostile Tibet. Tang,the continued invasion of Tibet was almost defenseless state of the most vulnerable parts was the lack of war horses. Tang, afford to produce their own horses with little loss should the situation by buying from outside say that was the Uyghur as a source were eligible. Tang alliance with the Uyghur were retained.
Steady Silk-horse trade combined the two countries. Uyghur traded the silk obtained from the Tang through the Silk Road. And Uyghur resisted the attack of Tibet in order to stabilize this trading activity. A continuous supply of silk in the Uighur have tried. Tang filled up the vacancy of horses and promote the safety of the country. The relationship between these two countries until the destruction of Uyghur was maintained basically.
