[P388] A case of zosteriform metastases of breast cancer

The incidence of cutaneous manifestation in patients with breast carcinoma is 23.9%. Cutaneous metastases from breast carcinoma appear within five years after the excision and are usually nodular. Rarely, bullous zosteriform metastases are reported. Zosteriform metastases are cutaneous metastases, which occur in a dermatomal distribution. A 39-year-old woman with a known history of metastatic right breast cancer presented with painful erythematous grouped pseudovesicular papules, arranged in a linear unilateral fashion over the right side of the trunk along the T6-T7 dermatome for 1 day. This patient had been diagnosed with breast cancer 13 years ago and undergone breast excision along with multiple sessions of chemotherapy. Under the impression of herpes zoster, the patient was prescribed oral antiviral medication and a biopsy of the infiltrated nodule was done. A skin biopsy showed extensive infiltration of neoplastic cells forming cords and glands in the dermis. Immunohistochemically, tumor cells stained positive to c-erbB-2 and estrogen receptor. Staining for progesterone receptor was negative. The histopathological diagnosis was in keeping with metastatic breast cancer and the patient resumed systemic chemotherapy after the diagnosis. Herein, we report a rare case of zosteriform metastases of breast cancer.
