The aim of this paper is to examine character education in Won Buddhism. What it entails, or more, what is the meaning of character education, its process, its methods, evaluation and finally the future of character education. According to the doctrine of Won Buddhism, a man of character attained spiritual stability, power of study, power of selection the study of mind, that is, threefold training. Two kinds of training programs are available: one is regular training, the other is constant training), There are two ways to evaluate the process of that program. One is self evaluation, and evaluation by another. Even if it is difficult to agree with a religious approach for character education, character education by way of religion will not only help one to cultivate human nature but also give us various implications. But we have a lot of task to be solved for character education, such as how to practice that process in order to cope with various students at different developmental stages.
