3. Measurement of excavator’s activity
Since enhancing fuel economy for construction machines including excavators becomes important, a standard method to measure fuel economy is required in near future. Using a method proposed by Japan construction machinization Association, fuel economy was measured with a typical excavator model widely used in domestic work sites. Activity of excavator measured with Portable Activity Measurement System(PAMS) was also investigated, which may be used to improve the proposed the method to measure fuel economy using standard work simulated motions. This work proposes that, based on work pattern suitable for domestic work, a method to measure fuel economy for construction machine including excavator is able to be improved with PAMS.
