한국어 초록

한자 교육에 관한 담론과 연구의 방향은, 본질적으로, 크게 국어 교육의 차원, 한문 교육의 차원 그리고 거시적으로 한자문화권 차원에서 그 범주를 설정할 수 있다. 이 연구는, 한문교육학계에 보고된 논문을 검토 대상으로, 한문 교육 및 한자문화권의 차원에서 ‘한자 교육 연구의 동향과 과제’라는 연구 문제를 특히 연구 주제와 연구 방법을 중심으로 고찰했다. 연구 주제에 대한 검토 결과를 요약하면, 먼저 한자 교육의 성격과 위상에 관한 논의에서 한자 교육을 국어교육과 연계 혹 통합의 차원에서 시론한 성과가 우리의 주목을 요한다. 한자 교수 학습 분야의 연구에서 학습자의 관심과 흥미 유발이라는 일차적 과제를 극복하고 문자학 성과를 반영한 교수 학습 모형에 관한 연구가 앞으로 요구된다. 한자 교육 평가 측면에서 측정․평가의 통계적 원리와 기법을 활용한 과학적 연구 접근 태도가 절실히 요청된다. 초등학교 한자 교육에 관한 논의는 다양하게 시도, 연구되었지만 무엇보다 국가 수준의 초등학교 한자 교육과정 제정이 필요하다. 한문교육용 기초 한자 1,800자의 경우, 어떻게 가르치고 활용할 것인가에 초점을 두고 논의를 진행하는 것이 더욱 생산적일 것이다. 끝으로, 한자문화권의 한자 교육에 관한 연구는, 한자문화권에 속한 나라들의 한자․한문교육에 대한 현황과 실태를 종합적으로 보여주고 교재 분석을 통해 교수 학습의 일단을 소개하였다는 의의가 인정되지만, 한국의 한자․한문교육과 연계하여 응용, 적용, 전망의 방안과 경로(經路), 전이 효과와 그 제한, 시사점의 구체적 내용이나 주의점을 미시적으로 제시하지 못 했다는 한계를 극복하는 것이 앞으로의 연구 과제이다. 다음으로 연구 방법의 활용 양상에 초점을 두고 선행 연구 논문을 검토한 결과, 한문교육학계는 연구 방법 측면에서 이제 시작 단계에 들어섰다고 평가 할 수 있다. 양적 논문의 경우 10여 편에 불과하며 그나마 과학적 엄밀성이 부족하고, 질적 연구의 경우에는 공식적으로 1편이 보고되었다. 교육 연구 방법론에 대한 공부와 적용이 한문교육 연구자에게 절대적으로 요청된다. 한자 교육 연구와 관련된 과제로, 한자 교육을 포함한 한문교육 연구의 활성화
와 학문적 정체성을 확립하기 위해 한문교육학 구성원들은 한문 교육 연구의 현장 지향성, 교과교육학에 대한 탐구와 적용, 연구 방법의 과학성 제고를 도모해야 한다. 특히 측정․평가 이론, 교과교육학의 연구 성과, 교육연구방법론의 활용 및 적용에 관심을 갖고 공부해야 할 것이다.

영어 초록

The direction of discussion and research on classical Chinese education can essentially set up its category largely from the levels of Korean language education, classical Chinese education, and macroscopically the cultural area of Chinese characters. This study has been carried out for papers reported in the classical Chinese education circle in order to consider the research problem referred to as the "trend and tasks of classical Chinese education research" from the levels of classical Chinese education and the cultural area of Chinese letters, especially centering around research themes and methods. Summarizing the review results on research themes, the achievement tentatively discussed from the levels of connecting or integrating the education of Chinese characters with that of the Korean language in the discussion on the nature and status of educating Chinese letters, above everything else, needs our notice. Researches on the learning model of teaching that gets over a primary task of inducing the interest and zest of learners and also reflects the achievement of orthography are required in the learning method field of teaching Chinese letters. A scientifically-approaching research attitude utilizing the statistical principles and techniques of measurement and evaluation from the aspects of assessing classical Chinese education is desperately needed. A variety of discussions on the education of Chinese characters at elementary schools have been attempted and studied, but it is necessary to establish a government-level classical Chinese education course in the first place. In case of 1,800 basic Chinese characters for classical Chinese education, the progress of discussion focusing on how to teach and utilize them would be more productive. Lastly, researches on the classical Chinese education of the cultural area using Chinese characters have their significance of comprehensively showing the present status and actual conditions on the education of Chinese characters and classical Chinese by the countries included in the cultural area using Chinese letters and of introducing a clue of teaching learning through the analysis of texts, but it is a future research task to overcome the limitation that has not microscopically suggested the plans and paths of application and outlook, transfer effect and its limit, and concrete contents and cautions of suggestive points, in conjunction with the education of Chinese letters and classical Chinese in Korea. As a result of having reviewed previous research papers with the focus on the aspects of utilizing research methods, the classical Chinese education community can be appraised as having now entered a starting phase from the aspect of research methods. In case of quantitative papers, there are just over 10 papers and they lack scientific strictness, and only one paper was officially reported in case of qualitative researches. The study and application for the methodology of educational researches are absolutely needed to those who are studying classical Chinese education. To establish the enlivenment of classical Chinese education and learning identity including the education of Chinese characters, we should make efforts in order to raise the orientation of studying classical Chinese education toward the field, investigation and application on curricular education, and scientific features of research methods. In particular, we will have to study with interests on measurement and evaluation theory, the research achievement of curricular education, and the use and application of education research methodology.
