한국어 초록

본 연구에서는 초등학교 저학년 자녀를 둔 다문화 가정 어머니와 자녀 간의
실제 대화를 분석하여 일상생활 및 학교생활(학업 능력, 숙제, 학교 행사, 교우
관계)에 관한 의사소통 양상을 고찰하였다. 연구 대상은 한국어 숙련도 각각 고급,
중급, 초급의 몽골, 태국, 베트남 결혼 이주 배경의 다문화 가정의 어머니와 자녀
이다. 본 연구를 통해 초등학생을 둔 다문화 가정의 가족의 유형(Barnes & Olson,
FACES III) 및 어머니-자녀의 의사소통 방식(Barnes & Olson, PACI), 그리고 어머
니의 양육 태도(Schaefer, A Circumplex model)에 대해 조사하고 어머니와 자녀
간의 실제 대화 자료의 녹취, 전사를 통하여 위의 결과가 대화에 어떤 방식으로
드러나는지 밝혔다. 또한 심층 면담을 통해 어머니와 자녀 간 의사소통에 대해서
본인들의 인식을 조사하였다. 마지막으로 교사와의 면담을 통해 자녀의 가정생활
과 학교생활의 연관성을 파악하였다.
다층적인 분석을 통해 다문화 가정의 어머니 자녀 간 대화의 양상과 의사소통
에 영향을 주는 요인 및 어머니와의 상호작용과 자녀의 학교생활 관련성을 분석하
였다.
첫째, 의사소통 양상은 어머니의 한국어 의사소통 능력 차이, 양육 태도, 가정
분위기에 따라 달라지는 양상을 보였다. 둘째, 다문화 가정의 어머니와 자녀의
의사소통에 영향을 주는 요인은 양육 철학임이 드러났다. 셋째, 설문 조사, 실제
대화 분석, 어머니-자녀 면담, 교사 면담을 통해 어머니와의 상호 작용이 자녀의
학교생활에 매우 높은 영향을 준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 연구 문제를 통해
얻은 결론 외에 다문화 가정의 자녀와 아버지의 의사소통이 가정 내 의사소통의
만족도에 영향을 주어 이것이 자녀의 학교생활과도 연관 관계가 있음을 파악할
수 있었다.

영어 초록

This thesis looked into actual conversations between mothers and children in
multi-cultural households with students attending the lower grades of elementary
schools, and found out methods of their communication on daily life & school
life(learning ability, homeworks, school events, and peership). Objects of this
study were multi-cultural household mothers & children with the background of
marriage immigration from Mongolia(advanced Korean learner), Thailand(midlevel
Korean learner) and Vietnam(beginning Korean learner), whose household
types(Barnes & Olson, FACES III) & mother-child communication methods(Barnes
& Olson, PACI), and maternal upbringing attitudes(Schaefer, A Circumplex model)
were investigated, and actual conversations between mothers & children were
recorded, printed and interpreted(Gordon, P.E.T.) to find how the above results
are reflected in the conversations. Besides, through in-depth interview with them,
their own opinions on mother-child conversation were investigated. Lastly,
through interviews with teachers, relations between the children's family & school
life were looked into.
Through a multi-level analysis, this study analyzed the interaction of children
and mothers in multi-cultural households, factors influencing the patterns of
communication, and relevance of these interactions between school lives.
First, the communication aspect shows difference between mothers’ Korean
communication skills, parenting attitudes, home atmosphere. Second, the factors
affecting the mother and children's communication in multicultural families depend on parenting philosophy. Third, through the analysis of actual
conversations, the mother-child interviews, teacher interviews, it was proven that
a child's interaction with his/her mother has a very strong grip on his/her school
life.
Through survey, another conclusion was concluded that father's role in
parent-child communication affects the satisfaction of domestic communication,
could determine that this is also associated with children's school life.
